Bringing together a "Village" that supports families of individuals with Autism within our community.
Connecting with parents/caregivers of autistic individuals is our goal.
Christopher Cares hopes to provide families a "PAUSE" from their daily routines to enjoy community events sponsored by our organization.
Through our community fundraising events we chose or have the community nominate families so we are able to assist parents and caregivers of autistic individuals by helping with the purchase of back to school items; gifting families full Thanksgiving meals as well as providing Christmas gifts for every child in the chosen family of the autistic individual.
Treena S is the founder of Christopher Cares Inc. She resides in Passaic, NJ. She is the devoted mother of Jordan and Christopher (the organizations namesake). Creating an organization in honor of her son was something she thought about for years. There were many challenges she faced when her son was diagnosed with autism, but she learned that with the support of others those were challenges she could overcome. Treena is passionate about her career; she holds a certificate in medical billing and coding from Ultimate Medical Academy and works as an advocate between healthcare providers and insurance companies. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting, making jewelry and cards. She hopes by starting this organization she will be able to provide families of autistic individuals with encouragement and support within the community.
I am Kesha Latrell, born and raised in the city of Passaic, NJ. What have I accomplished on my journey in this thing we call life? After graduating from the one and only Passaic High School I attended Wilfred Beauty Academy where I enjoyed learning all there was in the field of cosmetology. I owned and worked in a salon for several years before I transitioned into the field of pharmacology. While employed by Purdee Pharma for 10 years, I was then diagnosed with Lupus and was unable to continue working full time in such a demanding field. I am a self-published author of 3 books Healing My Soul, My Soul Is Well and The Basics, “What We Need to Know About Teen Dating Violence”. For 11 years I was the founder of The Elizabeth Mae Eaddy Organization and advocated against Teen Dating Violence.
What inspired me to take part in such a great cause? Growing up with my older sister who has special needs taught me at a very early age that some people are different. As I became an adult, I learned the importance of having patience, understanding, and most importantly giving grace to those with special needs. I am truly grateful for what my sister has taught me and will always be grateful for the lessons learned from my sister.
Being a part of Christopher Cares is an honor and I’m looking forward to all that Christopher Cares has to offer to families who have loved ones on the autism spectrum.
My name is Jordan B, and I was born in Passaic, NJ. I’m a student at Fairleigh Dickerson University where I am pursuing a degree in Computer Science. In my free time I enjoy learning to play and playing various instruments like the piano and electric guitar. I also have a strong interest in games. I’ve been playing games since I was a child, and it is something that brings me joy. Whether it’s video games, card games or board games, playing games helps me connect with others in a less stressful way. My reason for joining Christopher Cares Inc is my brother Christopher (The organization’s namesake). I feel I can relate to others who have family members who are autistic and hope to be of support to the families and individuals within my community.
Octavia H was raised in Passaic, NJ but has resided in Clifton, NJ for almost 20 years. Her interest in non-profit organizations began over 10 years ago when her best friend became an advocate and founder of an organization for Teen Dating Violence. When that organization dissolved, she felt a void in serving the community and realized she still yearned to help others in need. As a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, she connects and advocates for individuals when they are most vulnerable. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to different countries and learning about other cultures. She hopes by being a part of Christopher Cares Inc she can bring compassion and joy to the families within her community. Her motto is “It’s a Blessing to be a Blessing”.
My name is Teresa B, I was born in Lumberton, NC and moved to NJ in 1963. I’m a mother of 3 adult sons; I have 2 grandsons and one granddaughter. I am a TSA assistant in Newark, NJ. During my downtime I enjoy sewing and cooking. I believe in treating others as you would want to be treated and never forgetting what goes around comes around. I was asked what made me want to be a part of this amazing organization and my answer was one word- Christopher. Christopher is my grandson, and the organization is named in his honor. Christopher is truly a blessing to my life as well as the lives of our friends and family. He has taught us so much about what it is for one who is on the spectrum of autism. It is because of my grandson Christopher that the organization was created, and we are able work together and give back to our community.

My name is Pamela M. I was born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States when I was 18 years old. After completing my education, I started my career as a medical biller and coder. I’m married to a wonderful man, and we have two lovely children who are my pride and joy. I love spending time with my family. One of my hobbies is baking cakes, pies, cookies and other delicious treats. Baking is a way for me to express my creativity and share my culture. Watching the challenges and joys my friend has with her autistic child and knowing how passionate I am about helping others as well as trying to make a difference in the world, which is one of the reasons I joined Christopher Cares.
Hello, my name is Tatiana P. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children, a licensed Esthetician, Massage Therapist, business owner, & Passaic native. Helping others brings me joy and knowledge intrigues me. I’m constantly learning from my children, my clients, and life in general. I love to learn about the functions of the body and skin and share that information with others to help them live a better life.
Autism is one of those things I have limited knowledge and experience with and that’s one component to why I was drawn to this organization. When you know more, you can do more and Christopher Cares is an opportunity for me, and others like me, to learn about autism and the ways it can shape an individual, family, and community. It’s an opportunity for me to grow as an individual and share new knowledge with others. It’s a way to bridge different groups of people within our communities and help however we can. I am honored to be a part of this organization and am excited to see how it impacts everyone around us.
